VATTY connects to Xero
Connect a Xero organisation and VATTY lines your evidence up against the ledger itself. Every bill and spend money transaction is pulled into a live Transaction Feed, matched against the receipts VATTY holds, and the gaps are shown for exactly what they are: VAT sitting in Xero with no evidence behind it.
The Transaction Feed inside VATTY. Every state is a fact about evidence, not a guess.
The ledger on one side, the evidence on the other
Connecting takes a minute through Xero’s own consent screen. From there VATTY keeps the two sides honest with each other.
VATTY reads the purchase records
Bills and spend money transactions sync from Xero on a schedule and on demand. You choose how far back to look, and you can set a start date per organisation so history from before you used VATTY stops distorting the numbers.
Evidence is matched against them
Every receipt VATTY holds is scored against the feed on supplier, amount and date. Confident pairings are matched, near misses are suggested for a one-click confirm, and confirmed matches teach VATTY the supplier’s Xero identity so the next one is instant.
The gaps become the to-do list
Records with no evidence are counted, listed and chaseable. One email to the client lists every purchase VATTY holds nothing for, with their secure upload link. Records that already carry a document in Xero are recognised and excluded from the chase.
The evidence follows the confirmation
When you confirm a match, the receipt’s evidence pack, with the assessment, the HMRC verification and the audit trail, is attached to the record in Xero automatically. Open the bill in Xero and the proof is on it.
Careful with your ledger by design
An integration that writes to a client’s books has to earn trust. VATTY’s Xero connection is deliberately conservative about what it touches.
Two safe writes, nothing else
VATTY creates draft bills you review inside Xero, and attaches evidence files to records. It never approves, pays, edits or deletes anything in your ledger.
Duplicate protection
Before creating a bill, VATTY checks the feed for a similar record by supplier, amount and date and warns you, so a bill entered manually in Xero doesn’t get a twin.
Deletions handled honestly
If a matched record is voided or deleted in Xero, the match is flagged rather than silently dropped, and you’re alerted if it touches a signed-off VAT Period.
Consent you control
The connection is made through Xero’s own OAuth screen, organisation by organisation. Disconnect from either side at any time and syncing stops immediately.
Portfolio numbers that mean something
Missing-evidence counts flow into the Portfolio and Company views, so exposure is measured against the ledger, not just against what happened to be uploaded.
Everything on the record
Every sync, match, confirmation and attachment is written to the same audit trail as the rest of VATTY, and carries into the Evidence Pack at sign-off.
See it against your own ledger
The fastest way to judge the Xero integration is to watch it line up against a real organisation. Book a walkthrough and we’ll do exactly that.
